7 Tips for Developing an Excellent Brand

It is important to think about everything from your logo to the slogan to a color scheme when you are building your brand. You’ll need an unforgettable name that sends an excellent message.

However, these details are just the beginning of branding creation. Here are 7 tips to help you develop an excellent brand.

1. Define who you are.

How you see yourself can be different from the way others see you. Before you build any brand, you need to identify your personal brand.

Google yourself. Ask your closest friends what they honestly think of you. Consult a professional to conduct an analysis of your strengths and weaknesses. Your identity will define your brand.

2. Establish your online presence.

Reach more people online with a blog or your website. With so many social network options, create your online presence on one that you identify with most. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are all great places to engage with your audience.

When creating your brand, remember to be true to yourself. Have something unique to say. Build your list of followers. Create a slogan that has a meaningful message that expresses your mission.

Don’t overlook the power of networking. Get more attention to your brand by guest blogging and content marketing.

3. Be your brand.

Your personal brand shouldn’t just show on the Internet. It should be evident in your lifestyle. You can’t be one person online and another in real life. Well you can, but it doesn’t usually last very long.

To gain your audience’s trust, prove that the reputation you’ve gained online is who you truly are. When you attend networking events, people should be able to see the same person they read about on your blog or see in your photos.

4. Be dependable.

What are the brands you love?  You are probably loyal to these brands because they have proven to be reliable. Think about the brands that always deliver the best customer service or whose branding is consistently visible.

Consistency is key when gaining your audience’s trust.

5. Accept that you can’t satisfy everyone.

Don’t try to please everyone. Be the best brand you can be for your users. In business, the best thing you can do is identify those loyal to your brand and work to please them consistently.

Be yourself. You’ve decided to grow a business to achieve success. Not everyone will agree with what you have to say. Remember that this is your brand and your rules. The decisions are yours.

6. Associate yourself with strong brands.

Connecting to other brands can either strengthen or weaken your personal brand. Go network and find strong brands that will fortify yours.

A good place to start would be in the three C’s: company, college, colleagues

Does your company have a newsletter? Does your college have an alumni site? Do any of your colleagues or friends have a blog? If yes, then you can offer to contribute content.

7. Spread brand awareness.

Once you’ve established your online presence, it’s time to get creative on how to reach an even bigger audience. Partner with local businesses so you can promote yourself to their customers. Host social media contests that will create buzz for your brand. Encourage others to advertise for you by setting up referral programs. Ensure brand visibility by putting your logo on merchandise or stickers and pass them out.
